Hi, I'm Merlin, a 26-year-old film photographer based in the UK. I first got into it because I wanted a hobby that didn’t revolve around the pub or mindlessly scrolling Instagram. But as soon as I got my first roll back from the lab and held the physical manifestation of what I had seen through the lens, I was hooked.

My photography is largely inspired by travel and home—whether capturing new places abroad or the rugged north coast of Cornwall. I love the intentionality that film demands. With each frame having a tangible cost, every shot requires thought, patience, and conviction. Shooting on film also makes me truly observe my surroundings rather than just glancing at them superficially.

Beyond photography itself, I’m fascinated by the mechanics of film cameras—their precision, quirks, and temperamental behaviour. I’ve even started learning how to repair my own equipment, deepening my appreciation for the craft.
